Hawke's Bay farmer crushed by cow

A farmer on a property near Wairoa in northern Hawke's Bay is dead after one of the cattle he was loading on to a truck turned on him.

Wairoa Police say the 57-year-old was crushed by the cattle beast against the side of the yards from where the stock was being loaded.

St John ambulance staff made an unsuccessful attempt to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
