KEY POINTS:
A woman attempting to rob a bank of $300,000 told the manager to have a nice day in a demand note she faxed to him, a court was told today.
Sasha Deonne Lambert, on trial for blackmail, demanded $200,000 in a fax to the Helensville branch of the ASB Bank on October 17, 2005, sent from Kumeu Library.
She told bank manager Jacob Cooper if the money was not put in a package to be collected from the bank he would be taken hostage and drastic action would be taken against him and his staff, a jury heard in the High Court at Auckland today.
He was told not to call police and not to put a tracking device in the money.
"Do you understand. We are not playing with you. Have a nice day," she signed off the demand, crown prosecutor Brett Tantrum told the court.
Later, after police were called, she sent Mr Cooper another fax telling him he had made a bad move and he was not dealing with amateurs.
The second fax increased the demand to $300,000.
Mr Tantrum earlier told the court Lambert wanted to set up a school and was told she would need about $200,000.
She also told people she was expecting an inheritance and had spoken to the bank about a $200,000 bridging loan.
The trial is continuing.
