KEY POINTS:
Hastings millionaire Sam Kelt, who was set to appear in Hastings District Court today, will now fight an assault charge in April.
The charge stems from an incident where he was evicted from Havelock North's Diva bar on December 18 last year.
In addition to an earlier charge of wilful trespass, the merchant banker will also face a charge of summary assault of the bar's duty manager, Daniel Spiers, who allegedly asked Mr Kelt to leave and escorted him outside.
The defended hearing is scheduled for the Hastings District Court on April 27.
