One of two teens badly injured in a car crash that killed four of their friends in Hastings last weekend is out of danger.
A Hawke's Bay Hospital spokesperson said today Ricky Moulder, 16, had been transferred from the intensive care unit to a general ward as his condition continues to improve.
The other teen hospitalised after last Friday's horror smash, 15-year-old Jaydden Brittin, remains seriously ill in intensive care.
The two boys were the only survivors when their 1990 turbo-charged Mazda Familia slammed into a tree at 11pm on July 29.
Killed in the accident were Che Orbell-Pere, 17, Dylan Brittin, 16, Alex Scales, 15, and Michael Jeffries, 17.
Police yesterday confirmed Che as the driver of the car, and that he had not been drinking.
Funerals for all four boys were held this week.
