Two Northland men who took "vigilante action" in a bid to retrieve a stolen Harley-Davidson motorbike have been jailed.
Duffy Erueti, 44, farmhand, and Dean Edward Cook, 39, oyster farmer, both of Kaikohe, were sentenced in the Whangarei District Court yesterday to two years and three months in prison after being found guilty of aggravated robbery.
Crown prosecutor Gerard Winter told Judge Arthur Tompkins the pair drove to Whangarei in February last year to retrieve a stolen motorbike.
The victim was struck, causing him to fall back and gash his head.
