Harley Davidson's 883 Lowrider combines a 883cc engine with dimensions to suit shorties or those seeking an unintimidating introduction to the brand.
Today's 883 still features a V-twin motor with the burbling, lumpy idle expected from Harley. However, rubber mounts cut vibes while riding and fuel injection does away with carbs and choke to help deliver better fuel economy. The 883 is a torquey motor that'll let you overtake from 100km/h in fifth gear, but isn't strong on top end power, while the brakes and firm suspension are just adequate.

Feels, sounds and looks like a Harley. Sportster geometry handles better than cruisers and the drop from 735 to 695mm in seat height helps lower the centre of gravity to imparts a lighter feel than the 251kg (dry) weight suggests
