Harcourts should have too many guns for Kapiti in their regional superleague netball match at the Genesis Recreation Centre in Masterton tomorrow.
Kapiti have been on the end of three decent beatings thus far while Harcourts have won two from three and lie second behind unbeaten PIC No.2 on the competition table.
The challenge for Harcourts tomorrow will be to at least replicate the form which took them to an upset win over Wellington Girls College at home a fortnight ago.
Harcourts had to fight hard for everything they got on that occasion and the manner in which they gained the ascendancy in the last quarter spoke volumes for their resolve.
In comparison with that effort the 40-goal win over a weak Taita outfit was a walk in the park for Harcourts last weekend and player-coach Kelly Sargent wisely took the opportunity to give all squad members a decent amount of court time.
Whether Sargent applies the same tactics tomorrow will be interesting for while Kapiti is very unlikely to make a close game of it Harcourts do have bigger fish to fry in the weeks ahead and the need to hone combinations for those assignments will also be on her mind.
Players like Katie Wyeth, Emma Foote, Geraldine Carroll and Carlene Karaitiana are all outstanding players with experience to burn but even they need regular match play to maintain their high standards.
Whatever the combinations are, however, Sargent has already said she wants her side to sustain a maximum effort throughout the full hour's play.
Apparently there were times in the Taita match when they took the foot of the pedal and Sargent understandably doesn't want that to become a habit, especially with goal differential always likely to play a part in where teams are seeded at the end of the season.
Harcourts should out-gun Kapiti
