The dominance of Harcourts in Netball Wairarapa's premier one competition this season should be underlined tonight and tomorrow.
They are scheduled to meet second placed Gladstone All Blacks at the Genesis Recreation Centre this evening, and then third placed St Matthew's College at the Colombo Road courts the following day.
While playing two games in two days will obviously test their stamina, it's impossible to believe that Harcourts unbeaten record in 2006, which now stretches 12 games, will be under threat.
After all the last time they played Gladstone All Blacks they were allowed to field only five players because of not having fulfilled earlier umpiring requirements, yet they still won by a big margin.
And while St Matthew's Collegiate did keep them honest in their most recent clash, Harcourts pulled away over the closing stages to win comfortably.
Bare statistics show just how superior Harcourts have been to all other premier one teams.
They have accumulated the maximum 48 points from their 12 games and have scored a massive 779 goals while conceding just 294.
Gladstone All Blacks have registered 38 points while scoring 483 goals and conceding 414 and St Matthew's have 34 points while scoring 526 goals and conceding 413.
Sitting fourth on the competition table with 29pts are Wairarapa College, while Greytown Salute have 20, Carterton Red 19, Kuranui 9 and Hiona 5.
In other premier one games this weekend Kuranui and St Matthew's meet at the Genesis Recreation Centre tonight, with St Matthew's the hot favourites there, and at the Colombo Road courts tomorrow, Carterton Red should beat Hiona and Wairarapa College should beat Greytown Salute.
