Harcourts are through to the grand final of Netball Wairarapa's premier-one competition.
The hot favourites for the title scored a comfortable 57-25 win over Pioneer in their semifinal, played at the Genesis Recreation Centre, in Masterton, on Wednesday evening.
Pioneer gave as good as they received throughout the first quarter, which Harcourts led by a slender three goals, but from there, it was all one-way traffic.
At halftime, Harcourts were ahead 32-11 and they continued to call the tune in the third and fourth quarters.
Harcourts player-coach Kelly Sargent sat out the semi with a badly injured wrist, but she was delighted with the way her side recovered from the early Pioneer onslaught. "The first quarter was tough going because I think we might have been trying too hard, but once we concentrated on playing our own game we were okay," Sargent said.
Just who Harcourts will meet in the grand final will be clear tomorrow, when St Matthew's Collegiate and Wairarapa College play their semifinal at the Colombo Rd courts, at 1pm.
