The two coaches are taking a slightly different tack as joint leaders Harcourts and Celtic prepare for their Netball Wairarapa premier one match at the Colombo road courts in Masterton tomorrow, starting at noon.
Harcourts coach Kelly Sargent is quite happy to predict a win for her side even though they will be missing two of their big guns, defender Sarah Brooking and centre Katie Wyeth.
Celtic coach Perri Tatana-Williams is hedging her bets to some degree, saying the challenge for her side would be to make a close game of it.
Sargent expects the advantage Harcourts will have in height to be a telling factor.
"Height can be a huge advantage if you use it properly, and that's where our focus will be," Sargent said. " Hopefully, it will mean we will have more ball to play with than they do and that should be the difference really."
At the same time, however, Sargent concedes that the absence of the energetic Wyeth in the midcourt is a big blow to Harcourts, who can always rely on her to make a big impact on attack and defence. They do though have the promising Renee Cummings to call on and Sargent is sure she will be an adequate replacement in the centre role.
Cummings will be part of a Harcourts starting line-up, also likely to include Sargent herself and Geraldine Carroll in the shooting roles, Sam Woodhouse, Kay Slater, Victoria Green and Shantelle Renata.
Celtic have seldom been at full strength this season but the good news for coach Tatana-Williams is that all squad members will be on deck tomorrow. She said Harcourts strengths were well documented and Celtic would be applying tactics aimed at countering them. "We can give them a good run for their money and I'll be disappointed if we don't do that," Tatana-Williams said.
The irrepressible Hope Phillips and Kelly Te Whare will be the shooters for Celtic and with them will be Tatana-Williams. Amy Bubb, Juliette Mclean, Kiri Reeves and Kerewai Tatana
In other premier one matches being played tomorrow, Makoura College should have the edge on Carterton New World Lynx and Pioneer Blue should warm up for next weekend's big clash with Celtic with a win over Trevs 1.
Martinborough v St Matthew's Collegiate and Baywide Gladstone v Wairarapa College are harder games to call.
