Internet Mana leader Hone Harawira says he will not be making any public comment about the Te Tai Tokerau election contest until the final results are declared on October 4.
He issued a statement apologising for not responding to media requests since losing his seat to Labour's Kelvin Davis onSaturday.
"I have decided to spend the time up until declaration day talking with the Mana whanau before making any formal statements."
Mr Harawira's 2011 majority of 1165 disappeared and on provisional results, he lost the seat by 1119.
He has refused to concede defeat and is awaiting special votes.
