KEY POINTS:
Maori Party MP Hone Harawira is reinforcing his strident criticism of anti-terror laws and the recent police security raids.
Progressive Party leader Jim Anderton has today criticised Mr Harawira for a speech he made in Parliament earlier this week, saying he would speak out against the rule of law if it imposed terror on Maori communities. Mr Anderton says Mr Harawira's statements show contempt for the legal and political process and for democracy.
Mr Harawira says there is nothing he can say in Parliament that will make people angrier than they already are.
"Them, and their families, and their communities are hugely pissed off at the moment, it's nothing to do with what I'm saying three weeks after the event."
Mr Harawira says all freedom-loving citizens should be horrified they are being encouraged to sit back and say nothing about the arrests, denial of bail and the denial of basic human rights.
"I think that Jim Anderton can go and take a quick jump in the lake quite frankly. My politics are not determined by Jim Anderton."
Mr Harawira says terrorism is not just about Al Qaeda or Tame Iti. He says it includes state forces breaking into homes in Ruatoki, holding innocent people at gun-point and children being scared by armed masked men.
