KEY POINTS:
Two "very happy" men are suspected of taking a canopy from a Mig fighter plane used to decorate the entrance to a bar in Christchurch.
The canopy was on an alley wall leading to a bar off Lichfield Street.
Constable Daniel Beanland said the distinctive canopy was rare so "please leave it somewhere safe where it can be found."
He said the two men who took the canopy had Irish or British accents.
