A hammer, screw driver and a knife have been used to threaten people three street robberies over the past four days in Manukau
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Pizzini sai d a 25-year-old woman was walking home from work along Ormiston Road, Botany, about 11.20pm yesterday, when she was approached by three men who threatened her with a hammer.
They snatched her handbag and fled the scene in a grey, four-door sedan.
On Friday at 8pm, a group of four youths aged 15-17 were walking along Ti Rakau Drive in Botany, when they were approached by two men who threatened them with a pistol and a screwdriver. They asked for money and cellphones.
The youths handed over their phones and the two offenders fled on foot .
The third street robbery happened in Mangere along Orly Avenue about 3.30pm on Friday.
Three 15-year-old boys were sitting in a takeaway shop when a man approached and threatened them all with a knife. He demanded the boys hand over their cellphones, before he ran out of the store and fled on foot.
All three offenders in the Ormiston Road street robbery were described as Pacific Islander men.
The first was stocky, aged in his 20s, about 162cm tall. He was wearing a long sleeved grey coloured hoodie with a zip-hood over his head, long shorts and white sneakers.
The second man was skinny, in his late teens, 167cm tall. He was wearing a long sleeved dark coloured hoodie, with the hood up over his head. He was also wearing long shorts and a scarf or patterned bandana over his face.
The third man was in his late teens to early 20s. He was of stocky build and 164cm tall.
The two offenders in the Ti Rakau Drive Street Robbery were Maori/Pacific Islanders, aged 15-25.
And the offender in the Orly Road take away robbery was described as Maori/Pacific Islander, of fat build, aged 20-30, and 170cm tall.
He was wearing a dark coloured beanie hat and a black and white shirt with horizontal stripes
