SYDNEY - A New Zealand woman suffering from a medical condition has been missing in Sydney for almost a week, police say.
Karen Thuro Vlaardingerbroek, from Hamilton, uncharacteristically left her home in New Zealand and caught a plane to Australia, arriving in Sydney on September 17.
The 42-year-old called her son two days later and attempted to make a withdrawal from a Kings Cross ATM, police said.
Fears are held for the Maori woman's safety because she suffers from a medical condition and has not taken any medication with her.
Ms Vlaardingerbroek is described as being about 170cm tall with shoulder-length dark hair, dark coloured eyes and a strong accent.
She always wears a large red ruby wedding ring, police said.
