Police are baffled by the discovery of several litres of blood in a central Hamilton street.
Police said they were called to the "bloody mess" at Anglesea Street early on Saturday morning.
The blood appeared to have been dropped from a plastic bag off the seventh floor of a nearby carpark building, police said today.
They were investigating whether a man who walked past the scene carrying three stainless steel soap dispensers, similar to those used in public toilets, had anything to do with the blood.
