Hamilton man critical after assault

A man is helping police with inquiries after another man was attacked and seriously injured at a Hamilton house this morning.

The middle-aged victim was found at a Willoughby St house with severe injuries by ambulance staff.

He was taken to Waikato Hospital where he was reported to be in a critical condition tonight.

Police said the injured man had been identified and his family notified.

A Hamilton man is assisting with inquiries.
