A Hamilton man who allegedly sexually assaulted at least two men over recent weeks is appearing in the Hamilton District Court.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton of the Hamilton CIB said the man was arrested after the search of a property in the CBD about 7pm yesterday.
The 33-year-old unemployed man is facing two counts of abduction, two counts of stupefying, four counts of sexual violation and one count of indecent assault.
Mr Thornton believed the man may have been involved in a number of other incidents and he understood the reluctance of other victims to come forward.
"Police acknowledge that any victim of sexual assault is traumatised by their ordeal, but we implore anyone else who may have been a victim of this offender to come forward."
Mr Thornton said the investigation centred around the sexual assault of a 22-year-old man on Mill Street on October 24 and the abduction and the assault of two men picked up when hitchhiking in Claudelands early on Friday morning.
