Hamilton police still can't say how a woman died in her home following an inconclusive post-mortem examination this afternoon.
The 55-year-old woman was found in the suburb of Whitiora early today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton, of Hamilton CIB, said the autopsy, carried out in Auckland, had identified the need for further forensic examination before a cause of death could be determined.
"While we await these results a scene examination of the Whitiora home will be carried out over the weekend.
"At this stage until we get the results of the further forensic tests we are unable to progress our inquiries further and the case remains one of the investigation into a sudden death."
The woman's death has been referred to the coroner.
