A "cunning" thief who managed to burgle a Hamilton home in broad daylight last Friday has been arrested.
The man was apprehended in Te Awamutu on Monday, a police spokesman said today.
It was a "good result thanks to excellent CCTV" footage and information from the public, he said.
Police began an investigation after the Peacockes Rd home was burgled around 11am on Friday, Sergeant Jono Clark of the Waikato Tactical Crime Unit said at the time.
The burglar managed to escape with a safe containing valuables and important documents, after coming up the driveway and knocking on the door wearing a long-sleeve orange hi-vis jacket.
