A police spokesperson said the incident was reported just after 8.45am.
“It appears to be a two-vehicle crash on Victoria St at the intersection with Rostrevor St,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said Fire and Emergency New Zealand and Hato Hone St John were notified of the crash.
A St John spokesperson said one ambulance responded to the incident.
“We transported one patient in a moderate condition to Waikato Hospital.”
A motorist said she saw an ambulance and police at the scene.
“I was coming from Rostrevor St and it was to the right, so I couldn’t turn right onto Victoria St,” the motorist said.
“I had to turn around and go home another way.”
A police spokesperson said Victoria St was blocked for “about 10 minutes” due to the crash but has since reopened.
