The identity of a man found dead in a Hamilton street on Sunday with suspicious injuries remained a mystery this morning.
The man, aged about 60, in his slippers was found by a street sweeper near public toilets in London St in the central city early on Sunday morning.
Police have not said how he died but said his injuries were not consistent with a fall.
Specialist police searchers from Auckland searched the area around the toilets yesterday.
Police said further details on the death of the man could be released today.
They denied a media report that police had been unable to attend a reported fight in the area on Sunday morning.
The area had been reopened after a blessing.
