Police have converged on a Hamilton East suburb after a bank robbery this morning.
A man entered the Westpac bank on the corner of Grey and Clyde Streets in Hamilton East and passed a note to a female teller demanding money, about 10.10am, police said.
He was dressed in a bright orange road workers' jacket and wearing dark glasses.
He was described as being light skinned, clean shaven and of slim build.
Leaving with an unknown sum of cash the man was last seen on foot heading south on Grey St on the east side of the road, police said.
Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen the man or who comes across any hi-visibility clothing dumped in the area.
