An assault in central Hamilton yesterday afternoon was not gang-related, police say.
A 36 year old man received head injuries during the assault and was in a stable condition at Waikato hospital.
Detective Sergeant Matt Cranshaw said the assailant was known to the victim and it was an isolated incident.
"A 44 year old man, who was known to the victim, has been arrested and is appearing today in the Hamilton District Court charged with wounding with intent to injure," he said.
