Diminutive Solway Primary School pupil Charlotte Hamill-Harris returned a series of outstanding performances at the 2009 Manawatu age group swimming championships, held at the Makino Pool in Feilding.
Hamill-Harris, 8, contested seven events for the Aquajets club where she is coached by Jill McLean and returned home with six medals.
She was a silver medallist in the 50m butterfly (59.09secs) and 100m backstroke (1min 3.56secs) and a bronze medallist in the 50m backstroke (52.05secs), 100m freestyle (1min 41.02secs), 100m breaststroke (2min 21.61secs) and 50m freestyle (1min 7.45secs). She also placed fourth in the 50m breaststroke (1min 7.45secs).
The time recorded by Hamill-Harris in the 100m backstroke was a personal best by 7secs and she returned pbs too in the 50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke and the 100m breaststroke, the latter by 6.5secs.
This weekend will see Hamill-Harris competing at the Wairarapa championships being held at the Genesis Recreation Centre in Masterton.
