Bronze sculptures of Hairy Maclary and his friends are due to be installed on Tauranga’s redeveloped waterfront but support is needed for the final leg.
The Hairy Maclary sculpture project planned for Tauranga's redeveloped waterfront is closing in on its fundraising target.
In a final push, Creative Tauranga has released a video offering a sneak peak of the bronze statues coming out to play with some young fans.
The statues of Dame Lynley Dodd's famouscanine characters are being kept at a top secret location until enough money has been raised to install them permanently at the waterfront.
Creative Tauranga's chief executive, Tracey Rudduck-Gudsell said a talented team have been working on bringing the project to life for more than six years.
"We can see the finish line, we just need everyone to help give a little for the books that have given so much," she said.
