The Hairy Maclary sculpture project planned for Tauranga's redeveloped waterfront is closing in on its fundraising target.
In a final push, Creative Tauranga has released a video offering a sneak peak of the bronze statues coming out to play with some young fans.
The statues of Dame Lynley Dodd's famous canine characters are being kept at a top secret location until enough money has been raised to install them permanently at the waterfront.
Creative Tauranga's chief executive, Tracey Rudduck-Gudsell said a talented team have been working on bringing the project to life for more than six years.
"We can see the finish line, we just need everyone to help give a little for the books that have given so much," she said.
