KEY POINTS:
Fireworks are suspected to have caused a scrub fire that threatened houses in the Wellington suburb of Miramar about 9.30 last night.
The blaze threatened two or three properties but firefighters were able to get it under control before it caused any damage.
The Fire Service said it received a few calls during the evening, and the scrub fire was the biggest staff had to deal with.
The small number of callouts was a "welcome change of pace" from previous Guy Fawkes nights.
