Police have blocked off a property in a suburban Taranaki street after reports of gunshots at a house.
A spokeswoman said police received a report around 6pm that shots had been fired at a house on Norman St in Waitara, near New Plymouth.
"Police attended and are currently speaking to the occupants of the property," she said. "No one appears to have been hurt."
There is an increased police presence in the area and there are restricted cordons around the property, she said.
