KEY POINTS:
Police are refusing to say whether military-style guns seized from three Upper Hutt houses are linked to killer Graeme Burton.
Detective Senior Sergeant Darrin Thomson said the dawn raids yesterday might be linked to several high-profile shootings in Wellington.
But he refused to give any further details because he said the shootings were before the courts and the coroner.
In January Burton shot dead mountain biker Karl Kuchenbecker on hills above Lower Hutt. He pleaded guilty and is due to be sentenced next month.
In the first raid, police seized four military-style semi-automatic (MSSA) AK47s, one handgun, cannabis, LSD, Ecstasy, other controlled drugs, security cameras and Mace.
At the second, they seized one MSSA firearm, a rifle, a shotgun, a semi-automatic pistol, methamphetamine, cannabis, security cameras, lab equipment and drug-making chemicals. They took ammunition from the third house.
Three men and a woman are due to appear in court today on charges related to possession of drugs and firearms.
