A man caught with a slug gun near a Tauranga Work and Income office this morning told police he intended selling it.
Police rushed to a street neat the Gate Pa Work and income office after reports about 8.50am of a man carrying a firearm.
A 29-year-old male was found and a slug gun in a carry case was located nearby.
The man said he had the slug gun in his possession with the intention to sell it.
No threats had been made to anyone in the area, including the Work and Income office, police said.
