A student sparked an armed police call-out around an Auckland high school yesterday after he was seen with an air pistol.
A member of the public saw the 18-year-old handling the weapon in his car, parked near Western Springs College in Motions Rd.
Several police, including some armed officers, were called to the area about 9am, and the police helicopter Eagle also responded.
The vehicle was traced to a student at the college and he was found in class. He had left the airgun in the car.
Senior Sergeant Marty Brown said the student was warned by police.
