The student accused of killing an elderly man after an alleged road rage incident could plead guilty at his next court appearance, his lawyer says.
Unitec student Bio O'Brien made a brief appearance at the Auckland District Court this morning.
O'Brien, 27, is charged with the manslaughter of Jasmatbhai Patel, 78, on Carrington Road, Mount Albert, in Auckland on April 8 after a minor road accident.
O'Brien's lawyer David Niven indicated that his client could plead guilty at his next court appearance
"Either there will be a guilty plea or request for depositions," he said.
O'Brien had also been facing a charge of assault but that was withdrawn this morning.
He has been remanded in custody by consent until his next appearance later this month.
