A security guard stopped a man from setting fire to the Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park on Old Taupo Rd yesterday. Police said 34 people were in the building, including babies.
The unemployed man appeared in Rotorua District Court yesterday and was remanded in custody until he reappears today. The holiday park has now been targeted by arsonists six times since March and police are investigating if the latest attack was connected with the previous five attempts.
