Any of the three teams could win the cup as they all play teams sitting in the bottom half of the points table.
That again favours Greytown, who travel to Eketahuna to take on the struggling home side.
The northerners have had only one win against the winless East Coast in the first round, but have turned in the odd encouraging performance, in particular the narrow loss to Marist last week.
On that occasion, they came back from a 21-3 deficit to lose by three points.
Greytown have shown that in their victory over Pioneer last week they can win with dogged defence. They also have the ability to run riot in the backs, however, who turns out is a matter of conjecture with at least a couple of players doubtful due to injury.
Prediction: The Greytown forwards to provide a solid platform for their backs to show their wares. A bonus point victory for Greytown and the Moose Kapene Cup is in the trophy cabinet. If Greytown do slip up Marist should be the team to take advantage.
Marist do like to play an attacking style of rugby, but their forward pack have struggled at times to provide the good fast ball for the backs to utilise.
They come up against a Martinborough side that are somewhat revitalised since the arrival of former West Coast representative Tim Priest, who has been a steadying influence at first-five.
After a slow start to the season, the home team forward pack is also starting to reach the fitness standards required for this level.
Prediction: In probably the closest game of the round, Marist to sneak the points 12 under.
Pioneer take on Carterton at Jeans Street in the other pivotal match.
Pioneer disappointed in their loss to Greytown last weekend.
They had enough territory and possession to win a couple of games but poor option-taking in turning down several kicks at goal and poor back play cost them any chance of victory.
Carterton have been a bit of an enigma, looking good in a couple of large victories and then really struggling in other games. They certainly have the experience in the forwards, with the likes of Johnny McFadzean and Brock Price, to take it to the powerful Pioneer forward pack.
The return of Jono Hurley from injury will also add some steel to the backline.
Prediction: The return to their home turf will be the lift Pioneer need to take it out 13 plus.
East Coast are seeking their first victory of the season against Gladstone at Whareama.
Normally these battles between the country cousins are hard fought affairs, but the teams look poles apart.
The Coasters are struggling for numbers and although they can front with a competitive forward pack, the loss of key backs during the off-season is hurting.
Gladstone have kept ticking over the wins despite missing several players due to injury.
Winger Cameron Hayton is expected to make an appearance in tomorrow's match, although lock Andrew McLean is expected back within a few weeks.
Prediction: Gladstone comfortably 13 plus
