Greytown businessman Mike Perry had good reason to rise and shine very early yesterday and head to Masterton.
Mr Perry, a devotee of classic cars, was on the brink of receiving a gift he had bought himself while in the United States in November - a Candy Apple red, brand new, five litre, 2013 Ford Mustang.
The coupe arrived in New Zealand by sea from the States in immaculate condition but had to be put through its paces by the staff at Vehicle Testing New Zealand before it could be handed over to its proud owner.
Mr Perry was on a mission to buy himself a modern classic car when he went to California and had allowed himself 11 days to find what he wanted.
"I found it in Los Angeles on the second day," he said.
