After extensive fire damage the Greymouth fishing boat Te Aroha has risen from the ashes and is back trawling off the West Coast.
The boat suffered $350,000 of damage in a suspicious blaze while moored at the wharf in May.
Owner John Brown says the extensive repairs have been completed and the vessel is back at work.
"It's been well documented the damage sustained, including the burned-out wheelhouse, hull and decking, but I have spent my own money to now have it fully equipped with the most hi-tech catch systems and surveillance cameras, along with other electronics.
"It has to be the most up to date electronics on a boat that size," Mr Brown said yesterday.
