Free travel on Waiheke Island ferries for over 65s will be reviewed by the Green Party.
Greens transport spokeswoman Julie Anne Genter today said the party needed to look at the issue and whether or not a ferry to Waiheke Island is a public transport service for people who do not live on the island.
Under an agreement reached between Labour and New Zealand First in 2008, a SuperGold Card was introduced for superannuitants for off-peak travel on buses, trains and Waiheke Island ferries.
Asked if the Greens would consider abolishing free travel to Waiheke Island on the ferries, Genter said it needed to be reviewed.
She was speaking at an event in Auckland to announce a Green Card providing free public transport for students, people aged under 19 and people on a disability benefit.
