The Green Party has opened the books on the travel and accommodation bills incurred by its MPs this year.
The figures reveal the party's nine MPs have spent between $4,000 and $19,000 each on travel, while its out of town MPs spent $1,200 to $2,000 each on accommodation.
Dunedin based co-leader Metiria Turei has the highest bill at $18,968 while Wellington based Sue Kedgley has racked up just $4,593.
Ms Turei hopes other parties follow their lead and disclose their expenses. Broader disclosure is also a possibility.
Parliament's Speaker Lockwood Smith has released the details of a special cross party meeting.
He says the committee is conscious of the public interest and has agreed to develop a disclosure regime to release information about expenses incurred by MPs.
