The Green Party has dropped its long-serving chief of staff as its new co-leadership team looks to refresh the party's management.
Ken Spagnolo, who has held the role for eight years, will not have his contract renewed. He will be replaced by the party's communications director Andrew Campbell next week.
New co-leader James Shaw, who was elected last weekend, said it was a joint decision by him and co-leader Metiria Turei to replace Mr Spagnolo.
"We're a new team ... and we've been thinking about refreshing not only us as a leadership team but also our senior management," he said.
Mr Shaw said Mr Spagnolo had been "terrific" and "a real rock" for the Green Party over three elections.
