The 14 Green MPs will today officially be given their new portfolios and it'll mean a smaller workload for all caucus members.
They're all buoyant after a two day caucus retreat discussing policy and for the new MPs, learning how parliament works.
Co-leader Metiria Turei says in the past, the small size of the party's caucus has meant its MPs took on a large number of portfolios, but no more.
"We've always allocated all the portfolios and that has been real burden when we've been a smaller caucus," she says.
"So with fewer portfolios, MPs can focus on their areas of expertise, they can get in depth into issues and do more work with those constituencies and communities."
