Masterton Tennis Centre officials and members were delighted with the turnout at their open day last weekend.
Close to 200 people registered and they included VIP guests, sponsors, school representatives and visitors.
At the day's peak all the centre's 11 courts were occupied and it was encouraging to see a mass of youngsters enjoying the positive atmosphere engendered by junior convener Shona Sullivan supported by Reilly Smith of Tennis Centre and Wairarapa Tennis Association chief executive officer Cilla Paulik and a large number of volunteers.
The success of the open day was also due to the in-depth work the Masterton Tennis Centre have been doing over the past six months with Sport Wellington-Wairarapa, the Wairarapa association and Tennis Central.
The centre has recently adopted a strategic plan which should help them deliver the best tennis product possible to the Masterton and Wairarapa communities.
