The man charged with abducting a woman on Great Barrier Island in the Hauraki Gulf last month will stay in custody until his next court appearance in five months time.
Nathan Boulter, 21, unemployed of Southland, appeared in Auckland District Court via a video link from Auckland Central Remand prison but details of new charges against him were suppressed.
He had earlier been charged with hiding in a woman's house on the island with intent to commit a crime, causing grievous bodily harm, wounding Nortessa Montgomerie and abducting Ms Montgomerie.
He was remanded in custody to appear again in June.
The incident prompted a large police turnout and Ms Montgomerie was not found until 36 hours after she disappeared when she was babysitting at her father's home in Claris.
Police said she was traumatised by the event and was taken from Great barrier Island to Auckland Hospital in the Westpac rescue helicopter.
