Police have grave concerns for the well being of an Asian man who has been missing from Rodney since Tuesday night.
Masashi Hayama-Moreton, 22, was described as thinly built, 165cm tall, with shoulder-length, straight black hair.
Police media spokesperson Kevin Loughlin said police did not know what Mr Hayama-Moreton was wearing when he was last seen, but said he generally dressed in black with jeans worn low.
He did not have his wallet or his cellphone on him.
The man was last seen at about midnight on Tuesday at the Orewa Beach Holiday Camp, where he was in his Silver BMW car which was full of clothing.
Police said the vehicle had not been sought, and there have been no further sightings of him since.
He had not returned to his home in the North Shore suburb of Bayswater and has not contacted his family or friends.
Police have carried out an extensive search for Mr Hayama-Moreton since his parents reported him missing on Wednesday.
"Friends have described his recent behaviour as erratic, however his disappearance is considered to be out of character," Mr Loughlin said.
