A 54-year-old grandmother was today jailed for 6-1/2 years after attempting to smuggle a suitcase full of drugs into Wellington.
Susan Florence Horrobin, of Johnsonville, was sentenced in the High Court at Wellington after earlier admitting possession for supply and supplying illegal drugs.
She was arrested after arriving at Wellington airport from Auckland with a padlocked suitcase containing $22,000 worth of methamphetamine, LSD and methadrone on August 31.
Police had been aware of her activities in the drug scene for more than 10 years, and had been watching her home for 14 days prior to her arrest.
