Convicted paedophile Graham Capill has had his fifth bid for parole denied because of no suitable address for him to move to.
Capill, a former police prosecutor and Christian Heritage Party leader, has spent two-thirds of his nine-year sentence behind bars and applied for parole this month.
He was convicted in 2005 for multiple child sex offences.
In a decision released today, the Parole Board said it was not in a position to approve releasing Capill because he did not have an approved address to move into.
However, the board understood a family member had since found a suitable home to move to, which it would consider at a hearing in August.
Capill's statutory release date is June 27, 2014.
When he appeared before the Parole Board in September last year the board said he could apply for a parole hearing if he completed the Kia Marama Child Sex Offenders Programme, obtained a termination report and was able to put together a strong release plan with an approved address.
In March the board said he had completed the Kia Marama programme.
