A spate of graffiti has started cropping up in Masterton over the last week.
The Black Sheep jewellery store in Masterton was tagged with orange spraypaint and now the Colin Pugh Sports Bowl and the Red Star clubrooms have also been tagged. Black sheep owner Lynn Simpson said: "They have tagged the walls there before but not like this. They've had a real good go at it this time. This is the worst I've ever seen it."
Ms Simpson, who believes the vandalism happened in the last seven days, reported the attack to police and the Masterton District Council, and was pleased "both organisations were treating it so seriously".
Senior Sergeant Jymahl Glassey said police had noted the increase in tagging and had officers working on finding the culprits, but there were no suspects so far. He said it was probable that the tagging was linked to people being bored during the school holidays.
