GPS navigation is being blamed for a carload of tourists ending up down a bank at Donegals, on State highway 73 east of Kumara this morning.
Kumara Volunteer Fire Brigade deputy fire chief Les Neame said the three occupants managed to get themselves out of the car and scrambled up the bank near the Old Christchurch Road turnoff just before 10.30am.
"The GPS told them to go to Hokitika by Old Christchurch Road, they took the turn and that's about where it went wrong," Mr Neame said. The car was well down the bank but the tourists were "just fine".
