KEY POINTS:
An Auckland GP alleged to have defrauded the Ministry of Health of about $216,000 is likely to face more charges over Government funds totalling about $1.4 million.
The GP, who has interim name suppression, appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday. Crown solicitor Kristin Cato, appearing on behalf of the Ministry of Health, told the court that the amount of money involved in the charges totalled about $1.4 million of Government funds related to subsidies for doctor visits.
The doctor appears before the court again next Monday for a name suppression hearing.
