Gosche's wife seriously ill

Carol Gosche, the wife of Transport Minister Mark Gosche, is seriously ill in Wellington Hospital after collapsing early yesterday.

It is thought she suffered a brain haemorrhage. Mrs Gosche, who is in her 40s, has worked as an Auckland field officer for the New Zealand Educational Institute.

She was in Wellington for the weekend's Labour Party congress. The couple have three children.
