Business leaders from Wairarapa and Manawatu chambers of commerce joined together for the first time last week to celebrate the reopening of the Manawatu Gorge and to strengthen the relationship between the regions.
The Business After 5 event was held at Mangatainoka's Tui head office on Thursday. Chief executive officer of the two chambers Stephanie Gundersen-Reid was delighted to see people from either side of the ranges to the event.
"We take for granted the fact that together the regions offer incredible opportunities for business. We have a lot in common and many of the businesses share territories. It makes obvious sense to strengthen the relationship between the two," she said. "Networking is such an effective business tool and membership of the chamber of commerce provides the perfect opportunity for businesses to attend events where they can promote their own brand and services, exchange new ideas and just generally get to know each other. This all helps to drive the momentum of business development for both local economies."
Ms Gundersen-Reid said it was a great opportunity for businesses to celebrate the reopening of the Manawatu Gorge.
